The CyberCraft Lab is the research and teaching lab at the Faculty of Architecture of OTH Regensburg where digital and analogue worlds fuse — the home base of the CyberCraft idea coined by Prof. Christophe Barlieb to describe a practice that combines digital and analogue methods in craftsmanship. Operating within the Master’s programme in Architecture, the lab explores new design practices enabled by real-time interactions between humans, machines, and materials — with a particular focus on the integration of robotics, mixed reality, and AI tools into the skilled trades.
The lab forms the research engine of the CyberCraft Kolleg (funded by the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation, BIDT).
