Located on Wilhelmine-Gemberg-Weg in Berlin-Mitte, the company brings together craftspeople from different disciplines under the motto “Transforming Ideas Into Reality.”
werk5 combines finest handcraft with leading technology — CNC milling, robotics, AI, and digital fabrication — to push the future of the model-making craft. The team builds architectural showroom models with multi-touch integration for real estate marketing, interactive museum exhibits (including the responsive forest dung beetle for the Mediasphere For Nature at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin), tactile city and topography models with projection mapping, and accessible exhibition design that combines easy language, inclusive design, and sensory AI. Inclusive design has been a defining commitment — werk5’s tactile models and proprietary Multi-Sense-Box make exhibitions experienceable for all visitors.
The company is also a recognized R&D player in robotics for the trades, leading the development of the ZIM-funded “Robotics Toolbox” and acting as the industry partner in the BMBF-funded LEROSH research project on AI-supported robotic grinding for crafts. werk5 is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering’s Lernende Systeme platform and trains apprentices as technical model-makers, with three master craftsmen overseeing the in-house training programme. Long-standing customers include leading real-estate developers, museums, cultural institutions, and renowned architects and artists.
