Head of Bachelor of Object Design
schindlersalmerón GmbH
Christoph Schindler is a partner of the furniture label schindlersalmerón and heads the Bachelor of Object Design at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design Film Art (HSLU).
Christoph studied architecture at the University of Kaiserslautern and earned his doctorate at ETH Zurich. After gaining experience in architecture (MGF Architekten Stuttgart, Marble Fairbanks New York, MVRDV Rotterdam) and co-founding Design-to-Production GmbH, he chose to move into the scale of product design. Since 2005, he has run the Zurich-based furniture manufacturer schindlersalmerón together with Margarita Salmerón, developing series and individual pieces for the contract sector, frequently for care facilities and church institutions.
Christoph gained teaching experience in the CAS in University Didactics at the PH Zurich, as well as through numerous workshops — repeatedly at ETH Zurich, NTNU Trondheim, the Detmold School of Architecture and Interior Architecture, and the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. From 2010 to 2014, he taught design as a lecturer at the Department of Architecture at ZHAW.
In 2014, Christoph succeeded Frédéric Dedelley as head of the Bachelor of Object Design.
