The MINT-Lab at the Tiroler Fachberufsschule Lienz opened on 26 February 2025 as the regional hub for CyberCraft, Artificial Intelligence, and Mixed Reality in the skilled trades. Hosted at TFBS Lienz, which serves roughly 270 apprentices, the lab is designed so students “experience first-hand how traditional craftsmanship combines with digital technologies.”
The lab is the operational anchor of the WinterSchule 25 workshop series (Feb–Mar 2025) and the subsequent Design, KI & CyberCraft Train-the-Trainer programme that runs through 2026, both organised by INNOS together with CyberCraft Institute and the New Design University.
Focus areas
- CyberCraft — MR-tools and applications in carpentry, metal, and construction trades
- Artificial Intelligence — practical AI tools (ComfyUI and beyond) for designers and craftspeople
- Mixed Reality — HoloLens / headset-based fabrication assistance and design review
- Train-the-Trainer — multipliers across the East-Tyrolean trades community
